East Meets West at The 24th Annual Japan Expo,
November 15-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center
Traditional Japanese culture combined with the sights and sounds of contemporary Japan will enchant visitors to the 24th Annual Japan Expo 2003. This two-day event will feature "The Best of Japan" and will celebrate 150 years of trade between these great nations "US-Japan 150". Japan Expo 2003 will be held November 15-16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, South Hall G, 1201 S. Figueroa St, with show hours 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM on Sunday.
Japan Expo 2003 will feature a multitude of exhibits including fine art, automobiles and custom cars, anime-manga, games, arts and crafts, food and health products and more.

The Art Gallery Sai at the Japan Expo will bring the largest Japanese art collection ever seen on the West Coast. With over 300 art objects on display, the collection will feature Western-style paintings, calligraphy, Japanese-style and Sumi ink, photography, sculpture, dyeing craft and woodcraft art pieces, all available for purchase.
A special Anime/Manga section will bring large selection of cartoons, videos and collectables for adults and children alike. A writer's workshop will be offered during the weekend to give attendees the opportunity to develop their skills in manga. Anime fans are encouraged to come to the show dressed as their favorite character.
The games section will feature "Go" demonstrations by professional players. Go is an ancient board game that transcends language and borders, and is spreading throughout the world today. The players take turns placing black and white stones on the intersections of a 19 X 19 grid. The object is to surround territory and the side taking more territory wins the game. Attendees are encourages to learn from the experts how to play Go or how to improve their game. Over 20 Pachineseo games will be available for free play.
Japan Expo attendees will get a first look at the hot new 2004 vehicles from Nissan and Toyota, on display in the front entrance area. A custom car show presented by Showoff will feature over 20 import tuners.
The Japan Expo Food Court will feature an array of savory Japanese culinary delights, including sushi, teriyaki and noodles.
A broad range of holiday gift ideas will be on-sale at Japan Expo, ranging from clothing, books, and health products to arts and craft supplies.
