So honestly in reality what do you think of the other culture such as the Chinese and Khmers?
Honestly speaking, I get along quiet well with people of the Chinese ethic back ground as well as Cambodian. I some time even go to there private parties and festival, not to be mention i use to have Taiwanese girlfriend.
How ever on Asiafinest, Anti-Viets Chinese Nationalist and or Khmer Nationalist tend insult Vietnam, which lead me to be so Anti-<insert your culture> at times.

That's not the case for me. I get along quite well with most of the AF members here. I guess I just don't post as much as you do, however I frequent enough to know there are some radical racist amongst us. But, ehhh it's a forum.

I remember Kulong saying the exact thing that you have said. However, apparently he had an ex-Vietnamese girlfriend. Don't know what happened to him, but ever since he was gone, some of the Viet's here seem a little....sadder...
But in reality, I hope most of us Asians get along. I think it's just the way the forum is set up. It's divided into "teams" so we get the interesting debates. Even amongst ourselves. Ie, anti-communist, pro-communist.

Why dont we ask NQSH to invite him back, just for old time sakes. To me, he was the only real anti-viet on this forum. It's a shame he left. Why?

Strictly speaking from personal observation....Vietnamese and Chinese (esp. Southern Chinese) gel together extremely well. The relationship between these two groups can be VERY good, maybe when you really think back, our upbringing and cultures are very SIMILAR.

I do notice that Hong Kongers and some Cantonese in real life do look down upon Viets and gangsters and $hit, but Chinese from Vietnam dont do that. Honestly whenever I meet people, I say Im Vietnamese rather than Chinese and I admit that Vietnamese are more loyal and friendly and also accepting in general than Chinese FROM MY EXPERIENCE.

It's hard to tell , most of my friends are Chinese .... but generally yes people are nicer to you if you know and speak their language...........

I happen to be very fond of Chinese culture and by no means do I dislike Chinese people.
Khmer, on the other hand, now that's a different story...

I think we get along just fine irl.. its just when youre behind the screen u act like an @$$ sometimes because youre "protected"

Regularly, we're Asian getting along just fine, but sometime they are just pain in the neck, (no offensed) it doesn't matter, Viet, Chinese, Cambodian, or any other Asian ethnics, when they get drunk they just acts like hatress, stupid and out of control. I'm a 100% viet, but sometimes i dont' really agree on the way of Viet's doing things, like going to clubs for example, I go there just for fun, and it is supposed to be fun, but most of the time, there will be something's going on with the Asian people, and i ran into problems with my own people, and what's up with that? I mean, i'm Viet too, and they said let gang up on me (not that im afraid of them or anything, but it is just stupid to fight with those kind of people, but they just asks for it), ( not only Viet, but other Asians too, it happened other people also) and that is really tick me off sometimes, but i just walked away, so i mean, it is not Viet or whoever can't get along, it is just their attittude ruinning it. To me, im not even have anough love for any body, why hate?

Personally, I have a few Khmer Krom friends, I know that some of them don't like Viets, as they told me, but we all just get along quite well. Two of my best friends are Japanese. My previous professor also a Japanese and she was very nice. I do have some Chinese friends, they are ok, don't make a strong impression on me.

yeah, i know what you meant there, i don't have many Vietnamese friends here, but i do have all sort of friends came from different countries, believe or not, my best buddy is Cambodian, we're just like brother, but you're right only few that have attitude and hatress, but mostly we just get along just fine.

Correction!...Here is what we REALLY think deep down. What we do in real life is putting on a show to be nice to others (heheh well some of us anyway).

But as I said, from my experience, here in Australia, Viets get along fine with Chinese. Many of the Chinatowns and Little Saigons here, you can here Chinese along with Vietnamese side by side.

I dont know, maybe a lot of the Asians in Australia are ethnic Vietnamese and Chinese from Vietnam and hence we share a common bond coming from similar backgrounds.

There are some Chinese from the mainland, Hong Kongers and Taiwanese *note small numbers* who think they are better than Vietnamese but IMHO, thats because they hardly know Vietnamese. They all seem to think Vietnamese are all gangatsers or associated with gangsters or some druggies or have some relos who are. They forget that there are many many white collar professionals amongst Vietnamese including successful doctors, lawyers, accountants and other very highly regarded professions amongst society!

ive never met a khmer i hate... but i havent met many haha. take that as a compliment by the way

yeah.. some people in China, HK and Taiwan do think like that...but some people they don't have any impression abut Vietnam, one day i ask that shanghai girl, i ask her, what u think about vietnamese... she said " um don't know, all i know vietnam is a poor country"

and that shanghai girl look so damn pretty.. and very tall too.. 172cm
