VietNamNet – Pham Van Mach out posed two rivals from Singapore and Thailand to win the 55kg Asian Bodybuilding Title.

The title is considered the quintessential achievement of Mach’s collection of golds, who previously won world and Southeast Asian titles. In three previous attempts, Mach could only manage silver at this tournament.

Meanwhile, Ly Duc, six-time champion of this tournament (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003), earned a bronze this time round in the 85kg category.

The four remaining bodybuilders, Cao Quoc Phu, Giap Tri Dung, Nguyen Hai Au and Nguyen Anh Tai, did not win any medals.

Both Pham Van Mach and Ly Duc won gold medals at the 22nd SEA Games.

The 39th Asian Bodybuilding Championship took place in Bahrain with the attendance of 130 athletes from 30 countries, competing in nine weight categories.

The host team ranked atop with three gold, one silver and one bronze.
