Ha Noi, Sept. 22 (VNA) -- International delegates have congratulated the 6th National Congress of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) being held in Ha Noi, expressing their fine sentiments and warm friendship to the Vietnamese people.
Addressing the Congress, Sisavath Keobounphanh, Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC), expressed profound gratitude to the precious support and assistance from the VFF to the LFNC.
"As a close friend and comrade, the LFNC Central Committee rejoices at the great achievements recorded by the VFF over the past years", Sisavath said.
He praised the VFF's efforts to adhere to the policy of renewal and implement the Resolutions of the 9th Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
The VFF has successfully encouraged the Vietnamese people from all walks of life to take part in the national construction and defence, said the Lao delegate, stressing that the VFF's prestige is rising in both the country and international arena.
"In the context that the world and regional situations are becoming more complicated, creating many opportunies and challenges, the fronts of the two countries should further consolidate and develop their cooperative relations in the spirit of comradeship and fraternity," the LFNC President stressed.
Li Meng, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, affirmed:
“Continuing the friendly and neighbourly relationship, comprehensive co-operation, lasting stability and looking towards the future is an unchanged strategic motto of the parties and the governments of China and Viet Nam. Co-operation and exchanges between the two countries have increasingly been expanded. The Sino-Vietnamese relations have entered into a new stage of comprehensive development. In recent years, the Sino-Vietnamese economic and commercial ties have seen breakthroughs, bringing practical benefits for the two peoples. Common efforts in solving the issues relating to the border and delimitation of the Tonkin Gulf created a firm foundation for the two peoples to live in peace, joint development and to maintain close co-ordination in international and regional issues”.
“Under the current complicated situation in the world and the region, China and Viet Nam should further reinforce their solidarity, friendship and co-operation.. The CPPCC and the VFF have boosted the unceasing development of the friendly relation between China and Viet Nam, making active contributions to better mutual understanding, trust and co-operation. The CPPCC is willing to cooperate with the VFF to contribute to the development of the two countries as well as to stability and prosperity of the region,” the Chinese official said.
Samdech Heng Samrin, Honorary Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Honorary President of the United Front for Construction and Defence of Kampuchean Fatherland, expressed his admiration and appreciation for the achievements the VFF had achieved over the past 74 years. He stressed: "Viet Nam and its people are steadily advancing on the path to all inclusive all-sided development, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region".
Samdech Heng Samrin affirmed: "The multifaceted achievements of Cambodia resulted from the strength of the whole nation's patriotism, including positive contributions of the United Front for Construction and Defence of the Kampuchean Fatherland. These achievements are in separable from the great and valuable assistance of the fraternal Vietnamese people. Being optimistic about the future, the Cambodian people are determined to defend peace, stability and national conciliation, uphold democracy and respect human rights, promote economic development and actively play its role in the international community.
He expressed "thanks to the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the State, the VFF, the army and people of Viet Nam as well as other friend countries for their valuable assistance to the Cambodian people in their cause of reviving the country and for peace, democracy and progress of Cambodia."
Juan Jose Rabilero, Chairman of the Cuban Committee for Defence of Revolution, thanked the VFF for its assistance to the Cuban people during time of difficulty, saying the Cuban people are proud of the friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
He noted: "In years when the Vietnamese people struggled for national liberation and reunification, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro stated 'For Viet Nam, we are ready to shed our blood', conveying the sentiments of millions of Cubans towards Viet Nam.
"Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro said "The relations between Cuba and Viet Nam have become a symbol of the era", while General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nong Duc Manh during his Cuba visit stressed "We have to work together to preserve the valuable heritage representing the bright friendship between Viet Nam and Cuba and hand it down to younger generations to foster."
The Cuban official expressed his belief that the VFF with its glorious history will press ahead with new goals to realise the late President Ho Chi Minh's desire: "When the war ends, our people will build the country ten times more beautiful".
He affirmed: "Glory and honour are for heroic Viet Nam for the victories of yesterday, today and tomorrow."-Enditem
