The company I will be working for is Ethicon Endo-Surgery, which makes medical devices, like minimally invasive surgery tools. Getting this co-op job is really going to give me a distinct advantage when I graduate, since I would have over a year of real engineering experience. And the pay is really nice and is better than I expected...I will be making more than twice as much as my dad's starting salary, which is something all immigrant parents want to see: their kids becoming more successful than the parents in a new country.
And as the đíc tôn in my grandfather's family (i.e. I'm the first born son of my dad who is the first born son of my grandpa), all of my family place a lot of pressure on me because I am expected to be the trailblazer for all of my siblings and cousins. So getting this co-op job is really a big deal for me and my family. Woohoo again!! Be happy for your fellow Vietnamese brother
