Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi on Monday laid a wreath and prayed at New York's Ground Zero, where the twin towers of the World Trade Center stood before the Sept 11, 2001 attacks.
This is Koizumi's third trip to the World Trade Center site. He first visited Ground Zero shortly after the 2001 attacks and attended a ceremony in September 2002 there to mark the first anniversary.
