Let's say you and your girlfriend or boyfriend have diferent of backgrounds, do you think both of you can overcome these obstacles to be with each other?

Well, I personally think that the ethnic/racial differences are not a problem at all, but the religious issue is far more difficult. Even if both of you accept the religious differences, the parents/grandparents will be a stone in your way. And as you all know, Asians, especially Asian guys, tend to follow what their parents say.

divorces happen all the time to people who swore they really love each other, and they have meet the only one they could spend with the rest of their lives. There is no absolute answer...you just have to take a risk and find out.

I know its a satire. It say onion right there! Reality is there are hardcore Catholics and creationists trying to ban science in school and their movement aim to implement creationist theories in the U.S educational system replacing science.

Most of the time, buddhist people convert to Catholic when they marry Catholic people. I haven't seen the other way around. My sister does not believe in Christianity, but she converted to make her husband happy. She dodges the church whenever she can LOL. In her house, there are pictures, statues of Jesus, but not a single picture of Buddha is allowed. I have to say, buddhists are very tolerant compared to other religions. I don't think buddhism is really a religion.

Vietnamese people tend to have a problem with religious differences. I hear a lot of Buddhist families saying, "Don't marry a Catholic spouse, they'll force you to convert." And the Vietnamese Catholics either intermarry or do exactly that. So, I guess it can be tough if you're traditional-minded about stuff like that but not all families are like that (if they're even religious at all). But then again, people don't even care what their parents think anymore these days.

Yes they want it along side with science but I already know their agenda. they want to replace science and knowledge with religious extremism. Wanting it as a subject next to science is their only first step. What do you think the The Republican War on Science is all about?

i put more trust in people in charge to use common sense. religion simply does not have the criteria to be a valid school subject. plus, these day hardcore religious people are laughed at while it is politically ok to bash them.

To answer SoCal question and be exact, it's really hard.
As in Vietnamese old saying: moi~ nha` 1 canh? - every home has its own perspective.
In old times, mostly every families, they really strict in who their children dating or more, get married to. They have strong minds and thinking about the different between religious, countries or more different skin-colour, culture...etc... So a lot of people if they go agaisnt that kinda thought, their families wont talk or see them anymore.
But nowadays, there is only a few stay that strict because they more open-mind about the whole dating and marriage anyway. I got friends or people that I know get married to diffirent cultures and religious with their family blessing.
And I guess, the whole point of marriage or loving someone is that we all stay happy in a relationship, and after all, that's all what our parents hoping for us when we are with someone. Dont you guys agree ?
Even though, my own family in my point of view, still very strict in who I'm gonna date.
But well, what's a life if you arent dare to take some risks ?
