CHAPTER ONE
As I sweep my bow against the violin strings, I am at peace, lost in the music, taken to another dimension. I close my eyes and let the music take over, this unbelievable sensation spreading throughout my body.
Lee’s POV (POV = POINT OF VIEW)
I’m walking down the corridor, whistling a familiar tune, when I hear it. This sound, this pure sound, floating out of room 16. The notes have this warm vibrato that could melt ice in an instant, and right now, my heart is turning into liquid.
I peek into the room and spot the fine silhouette of a girl playing the violin by the window. The shadows cover her face, so I can’t exactly make out who she is, and I stare in amazement, each rich note bouncing against the walls and into my ears.
Rin’s POV
I feel someone’s heavy gaze, and from the corner of my eye, I spot a figure standing in the doorway. Abruptly, I stop playing the violin, my bow still lying on the strings, and look up, only to find Lee, that jerk. What is he doing here?!
Lee’s POV
Finally, she glances at me, and it takes me a while to realise who she is: Rin. For once, her hair is down, and her fringe falls over her eyes. She stares blankly at me through her fringe, and I notice she isn’t wearing her glasses. I didn’t know she was pretty…
Rin’s POV
That big dufus is just standing there, and suddenly I am filled with anger and fury. He’s such an @$$hole, why isn’t he saying anything? Usually he’d have called me some exotic offensive nickname by now. Anyway, I’m not going to wait until he does. Glaring at him as hard as I can, I shove my violin back in it’s case, unwind my bow and close the case shut before grabbing my backpack and storming past him. As I do so, he raises his arm slightly but then hesitates and jams his hand back into his pocket. Was he going to hit me?
A rough hand captures the handle of my backpack and I immediately fall to the ground. Lee’s face looms over mine, and I can hear the girls in the corner snicker. I sit up, head butting him in the process. Success! He falls on his bum and rubs his forehead. Grabbing all my gear, I lean forward and poke my tongue at him. Then as I skip away happily, “HEY DOOSCHBAG! NICE UNDIES!” Halting, I slowly rotate my head 180 degrees. HOLY COW! The back of my skirt has tucked into my waist, showing the world my ducky underwear. This is all Lee’s fault. I fix my skirt and hurry up the stairs. My face is burning as I try to ignore the laughter echoing throughout the corridor.
