Vietnam balances communism, capitalism

When Ho Chi Minh's battalions swept into Saigon 33 years ago to establish a reunited Vietnam, the communist conquerors made one critical miscalculation: Military victory would make life better for the war-weary nation.


Two-thirds of Vietnam's 85 million people were, like Ngoc, born after American combat ended in 1973.

Bac Ho would turn-over his grave if he would have seen what happen to the country he tried to reunite after the war.

It's a blessing that over 2/3 of Vietnamese population in Vietnam and outside of Vietnam were born after 1975.


We are not bounded by any hatred.


Hatred and anger can kill you. Only love and compassion can bring us peace and joy.

The worst mix you can get.

Look at USA market economy. It does not take much to tip it over and send the rest of the world into a spin. With an inefficient and corrupt environment, market forces can have a field day. If USA society can't stop it, what makes you think communist society can?

Better than just going plain Communism. Whatever they are doing now is sure as hell better than what they had 20 years ago. I couldn't even imagine the magnitude of power and size of the mighty state of South Vietnam could have projected up to todate. Is this what we get for annexing kingdom of Champa? I tell ya, we fu-king cursed!

Remember USA put an embago and VCs were throwing people left and right to prisons trying to control VN. Neither is better. Pollution and corruption are rampaged and the culture is much dying. Is it only better than having an embago. Other than that you just have more pollution and corruption and enslavement and dying culture.
