No. The "Tai Dum" are the Tai tribe in Vietnam( I think in the Dien Bien Fu area). Dien Bien Fu used to be Lao territory but was given to Vietnam by the French.
The vietnamese in US and other countries don't like the current vietnamese government.

Black Thai(Tai Dam)(not relating to Thai of Thailand) are Lao people from Lao area of Vietnam. They are all over Laos as well as northern parts of Thailand. I think i read somewhere they are more pure tai than most Laotian.

I eat vcs for breakfast. My dad was fighting for south vietnam during the war. After the american troops withdrew, the vcs took over and they put my dad in prison for 8 years. Now how can I be a vc?

Lao folks been calling the Hmong people Meo for centuries. I understand the Hmongs are offended by it. Lao folks never meant to offend the Hmongs. The Chinese called you guys that,so we just went along with the chinese.

My body family's lived in V.T. for a long time, even he can't understand why "meo" is offended and he refer himself as meo to demand attentions while playing balls. It's sadden me to read some negative comments from Hmong person in respond to the arrested of the general. I do respect individual opinion regards the event but express hatred toward Lao and denial Laos as motherland is unexceptable.

Hmong people does not hate all Lao, but Lao communists and any Lao whom forget the very reason they're here. We're just frustrated with people whom seems to forget their identity.
