I already met 5 that stayed in the Phils. for 6 months before going to the US. I have one that was only 16 when she stayed there, she says the one who taught English was a Mestiza person like she said she was almost white girl but its a Filipino and she says she didn't like the Phil. weather 'cuz she was there May to Nov., it was rainy season and there was an entire whole week that it rained. And one guy change his name to Western/Filipino/Catholic name before entering the US.

Or any of guys V. A. whose parents stayed in the Phils. before entering the US?

My family did in 79-80 near Coron Palawan. The Filipino villagers were very nice. When my family got off the boat the villagers gave them food & clothes although the villagers were poor themselves.
