VietNamNet - More than 22mil students have enrolled nationwide for the upcoming academic year, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Dr. Pham Vu Luan said at a press briefing in Hanoi last week.
Of the total, there are 3mil preschoolers, 18mil primary and secondary pupils, and 1.1mil students at colleges and universities.
Dr. Luan said there are currently more than 10,104 preschools, 26,359 primary and secondary schools, 286 vocational schools, and 214 colleges and universities across the country.
In the new school year, the education sector's main tasks will be renewal of outdated textbooks and teaching methods, improving the qualifications of teachers and administrative workers, improving school facilities, and boosting the process of education socialisation.
