what is a dim sum? i hear it all the time,but don't know what it is.

dim sum is absolutely scrumptious chinese fooooood
they're like savoury/sweet snacks that were traditionally made to accompany tea.

holy $hit...you just made me decide i'm getting dim sum this weekend.

My American friends call it a "rich man's buffet" except that you pay per dish and like someone said above, it's only a lunch thing. Most places that serve dim sum are jam packed on Sunday's and sometimes Saturdays. The crab legs are ok but are over priced (not that just actual crap meat in it) and the duck feet are good. Never get egg rolls or dumplings at a dim sum because it's way over priced. Btw I think the sticky rice is not worth getting as well...

We'll it's not the crab legs your probably thinking of. It's a crab claw stuffed with shrimp/crap meat I think. Here is a picture of it but it's not the best.

Anyways, it's deep fried and round with a crap claw sticking out of it. Most places don't serve it because it's over priced.
