Why would Overseas Chinese want to be politically controlled by China ? Besides China doesn't have the power to control Overseas Chinese who are citizens of other countries.

This is surprising that anyone could come up with these types of comments. India had never considered other far off countries with big Indian origin population as their own. Well, the Indian colony in Kenya tends to lobby the Indian government to take an active role in interfering on behalf of Indian Kenyan citizens during times of crisis. It's true that India doesn't reach the stage of talk about taking over a colony but it does behave like a Big Brother when its overseas indians are threatened life and limb, much like the PRC government would over the chinese in Indonesian pogroms for instance..

I have no idea as to what China has done to the Malays. It is the Malays who are persecuting the Chinese in Malaysia.

Mainland China do not have much interest in Sg for a simple reason is that the mainland Chinese thought they had already know. China have fresh water supply which is badly contaminated. And therefore lack of water. China started modernising >20 years. Does Shanghai or Beijing have each and every building sewage pipes connected to any wastewater treatment plant ? Why did new building collasped in Shanghai ? Have China "know how to do it "?

We didn't do it to conquer territory for the glory of the motherland. Quiet contrary, we did it because we'd be better off to emigrate OUT of China to work for or trade with foreigners. There is financial and social freedom to be gained by leaving China.

I think many of taiwan's ancestors and singaporean's ancestors shared similar motivation. But maybe Singaporean's ancestors were braver( to took a longer journey to travel further away from China). It was a more dangerous and uncertain journey but the reward turned out to be greater.
