depends on your taste...I think people with American standard would find Southern Viet people to be better looking but I personally find the Northern Viet people to be better looking.

But our Hoa Hau (Miss Vietnam) are usually from the North...and if a Miss Vietnam is from the South, she is likely to have Northern ancestry (Northern Vietnamese who migrated to South Vietnam recently).

It's quite balanced. Many girls and boys from Hanoi and Hai Phong go to SG to work. Just think of the supermodels Binh Minh or BB Pham. So it is in the media. Ho Chi Minh TV (HTV) hires a lot of Northern MC's too. Have you seen "Co Gai Xau Xi"? The half cast speak with Northern accent..it was quite strange to be honest.

not sure of all the criteria for selecting miss Vn. i would think that beside proportional body and good look, might have some things to do with ability to answer questions, talent (?), the "cat walk", elegance, and charm (co duyen).
