Maybe Philippines (Davao City), they have so many durian varieties there. I've tried Durians from Thailand but I consider it not as good as the one from Davao, Philippines. I'm stating a particular place in the Philippines as it only grows and bear fruits on these areas only and not the whole Philippines. In fact, some filipinos hate it too due to its smell.

But us Davaoeños luvs it! Makes your body hot!

i think it is only good when it is really really cold, almost frozen. Even then, it is just okay...I can think of alot of things that i'd rather have.

This smells like a mixture of $hit and Big Bob's armpits on a hot summer day. Everytime my mom buys some, I stay in my room and close the door, take out my set of permanent markers and glue, and sniff them like a dog to alleviate my suffering. Yuck.

no way dude! others might eat it like that to at least minimize the smell but once you get used to the fragrance, you'll find that the stink correlates to its allure and taste and i'm also kinda happy not many people likes this fruit so i can have it all to myself.

What does it taste like?

first you have to picture you're in a filthy public washroom that hasn't been cleaned for a week, then try to imagine the feeling of a melting custard in your mouth with the bitter sweet flavor and aroma of everything that is in that public washroom youere conjuring and add a dash of garlic in it also.

yeah, it could turn your fingers and hands purple after you eat it, lol... but i love it.

langsat, i'm sure we have that too, just by a different name, which i think is "duku" yeah, forgot to mention those, but "langsat" and rambutan are nice too, depending on which type of rambutan.

but yeah, anyway, come to think of it, both my grandma and uncle are crazy about durian, lol...
