is it offensive to call a vietnamese person, a 'viet'?
im hoping that it isnt. it's much quicker to type"viet" than "vietnamese"

The word "Nam" in Vietnam indicates the relative location of the country comparing to most other Asian countries (China, Korea, Japan etc...)

in the same sense as Dai Han is the name for korea, though some use Han Quoc but Dai Han litterally means greater Han, or geographically northern han or north of han(china)
^ where's the correlation between the two names? Hàn in Korean and Hán in Chinese are two different words and they sound different also.
