ok so i had 2 interviews for this one job and i thought i was doing super duper great, i mean i got the impression that i was going to get it
cause the second interview the interviewer gave me their card and said when i have got this particular certicate then give them a call; told me we'll see what we can do for u ..
well anyways 2 days from the interview, i come home with a rejection letter....
I AM SO SAD i really wanted that job and i felt that i was so confident like that was the best interview ive done, like i wasnt stuttering (haha in usual cases i do)...
does anyone knows what this mean

you can call the person back and ask what was wrong. most likely you just werent best fit for the position
you should still send a thank you letter though. say something like keep my resume in your files and if a position ever opens up you feel that I am right for please send me a message

nah well the rejection letter said we'll keep ur resume on file for 3 months and will contact me if anything comes up...
the dude gave me his card and said call me and we'll see what we can do; like it was an open invitation for employment provided i get this certain certificate

Do you have that certain certificate? If so, you should call. They like assertive people, most of the time.

Most of people just give up, and you want to stand out.

really?? u think i really should. i kind of feel that letter was a mistake it was dated 31 jan and i had second interview on 4 feb, 2 days later i was rejected...
i have a feeling the letter was sent 2 days later so i would save money on getting the certificate.....

Someone else that interviewed was probably already certified.

I agree. Nobody wants to wait on someone to get a certificate that they require for a job.

Not your faults. I have been rejected millions of time before I got the job that I have now.
Enjoy your sorrow while it lasts
Then move on
Update your resume and prepare for another rejection
Keep doing it until you get a job

No! lol, am I the only one that think you should get the certificate and call them back? The interviewer liked you.
The way I see it is YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE!! If you got the job, it'll pay for the certificate, and if you don't.. it's not like you do now :P If they wanted you before they interviewed this new person, they may have wanted someone else before they interviewed you.
If you really like this job then you should call 1) pretend you never got the letter (=X) or 2) saying thanks and just say something relevant with the job. If they see that you REALLY want to be a part of the company, they will REMEMBER you when they need to fill another opening or they'll find a job for you. The three months discourage a lot of people into thinking that it's over imo. There are only a few that will stand out and you want to be the one!
You don't have to be the most qualified to be hired (unless it's a doctor and such :P).

just because you think you did great at the interviews don't mean the interviewers think you did great. it's good to be positive but put yourself in the interviews shoes.

Getting a job isn't easy at this time with the economy in such had shape, that's why you need to try extra hard.

Their loss, not yours. Do you have a forklift certificate? OH&S regulations of late mean that they're crying out for qualified forklift drivers, and it usually translates to an extra dollar or two per hour if they're short on labourers and you give them the impression you're about to get up and walk out if they try to hire you on the non-forklift labourer's hourly rate. They'll try it on you every time though. If they can get a good forklift driver for the price of a schite-kicker, why would they offer you the proper rate?
You can get your forklift ticket in around half a day, and if you go to the right agency in Australia, the government wil actually fork (scuse pun) out for the cost of the supposed training course that you have to do to get the licence, even if you've been driving forks for twenty years.
If all else fails, come to Australia. We're having a skills shortage. Too many overqualified retards and we need immigrants to actually DO the work that nobody wants to perspire over.

It's quite normal to clock off work at 15:00 in your first week and drag yourself home to fall into bed by 16:30 in total exhaustion, but you'll find that after a week's hard work, and a weekend off (no overtime first week - you wouldn't want it and you're not yet productive for Saturdays), it starts to become easier as you get used to it.
Then the fun starts as you start to notice the pain that the new guys are going through to keep up on their first few days. Some jobs I've had, they take off for morning smoko at 09:30 and never come back for the next session. If you're looking for saw mill work btw, go for a pine mill for starters, for it's a lot lighter than jarrah and even karri. You've really got to be strong to last your first week in a jarrah mill. Pine mills are just good training.
Stay out of hospitality too. It's anti-productive sheila's work, for part-time uni students and poofters.

well thank you for the suggestion but like no thanks; i dont fit that mold in terms of physicality
i'm a part time student and also work part time and i wanted another part time job to fill the other days so I wouldn't consider myself a poofter if I wanted to work in hospitality.
its a great way to forge a career if u keep at it, only anti productive if u choose not to do anything with it
