I fear being late for work. I once missed my bus and I had to wait another 20 mins for another bus. =(

There was another time when I fell asleep studying and I woke up 5 mins after when I was suppose to start.
I got to work like 1/2 an hour later. =(

Share you late for work experiences.

I'm late all the time and no one seems to mind because they come in later than me!
GentleWind
I was an hour late one time. So it is all good. Just be mindful of that.

Set your alarm half an hour earlier to wake up in the morning, and go to bed half an our earlier at night, and you'll always be early unless there is a really good reason why not. It is better to be ten minutes early than one minute late. You even get time for a coffee before you have to start loading trucks all morning. That's a better quarter-hour than staying up 15 minutes later to watch a whole bunch of crappy advertisements on tv at night.

If you are even one minute late, it demonstrates tardiness, incompetence and disorganisation, and shows others that you cannot be trusted to do anything more important than load trucks under adult supervision.

Don't EVER be late!

I'm only late if the trains are running seriously late.

I was always late in my previous company, it was the culture there.

But now, I'm only late if the traffic is bad. Otherwise, about half an hour earlier.

I dunno, nobody at this office really cares. Some days I'm early, some days I'm late. I have no fear of reprimand here and it's awesome.

No need to, they understand.

I've never been late to work. Maybe because my life revolves around it.

I used to be puntual. 8 years later, i'm always 20 mins late now. I figure I paid my dues and proved my dedication.

One time I was two hours late tho. I woke up to the sound of my phone, it was my supervisor calling. There was no reason to lie so I told him the truth.
I think my alarm went off, I woke up, saw my brother in the shower, layed back down but ended up falling back asleep.

Generally speaking, if you're 5 to 10 minutes late, I will tolerate it. I won't look favorably upon it, but I won't punish you for that. If I'm in a good mood, or if it's a Friday, usually I will allow that to be 15 minutes.

If you're more than 10 - 15 minutes late, you deserve to be scolded.

If you're planning on being more than 10 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances (like a traffic jam due to accident), you better call the office and let them know.

too much snow no the roads, traffic accident, cause me to be late today

I'm always usually, 10 minutes early to work. I can't stand tardy people. One of my pet peeves. It's rude, self-centered, and irresponsible.

Edit to add: Unless of course, it was completely out of their hands, like transportation issues.

^ uh... thanks...i think embarassedlaugh.gif

i'm so not punctual in general though, but i think it's a learned habit.

i'll set up a meeting for say 10 and people don't show up until 10:05 or 10:10, so i get the impression it's ok and i start doing it to other meetings too...and pretty soon it goes into other personal appointments.

icon_redface.gif, i should really make it a point to get there a little earlier.....but people at work get there at like 6 or 6:30AM, I don't get up til 6:30 and have a hour long commute
jrockerz
go early than it supposed to be.

my work place is kinda flexible hour
