HCM City (VNA) - Vietnamese Judo athletes successfully defended their top ranking in the region with 10 golds, four silvers and one bronze at the 8th Southeast Asian Judo Championships held in HCM City on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Runners-up were Myanmar with three golds, two silvers and one bronze; and Thailand, two golds, seven silvers and six bronzes.
However, experts said, Viet Nam clinched the victory easily as strong teams like the Philippines and Indonesia were absent.
The tournament attracted 46 male and female judo athletes from Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam.-Enditem
