Vietnam sent a team of 5 to the International Physics Olympiad and all 5 have won medals. They won 3 silvers and 2 bronze.

Ha Noi, July 22 (VNA) - All five Vietnamese students won medals at the 35th International Physics Olympiad, held in the Republic of Korea from July 15-23, specifically three silvers and two bronzes.
The silver medal winners are 12th-grader Dao Xuan Dung from the Nguyen Hue High School in Ha Tay province; 12th-grader Doan Van Khanh from the Le Hong Phong High School in Nam Dinh province; and Nguyen Hai Chau from the School for Talented Students of the Ha Noi National University.
The bronze medallists include 12th-grader Nguyen Cong Thanh from the Le Quy Don High School in Da Nang city and 12th-grader Trinh Hong Phuc from the School for Talented Students of the Ha Noi National University.-Enditem

First, the International Math Olympiad, then Programming chip contest, then Microsoft International software contest and now the International Physics Olympiad.
Sad that this talent won't be utilized for the benefit of our country until we get enough money to fund more mathematics,science and computer projects in our country. I hope by 2020 Vietnam gets rich enough to create a technological utopia.

But why are the idiotic ones controlling the smart ones in Vietnam.

lol we have to let the smart ones just concentrate on mathematics,physics and computer science, don't waste their minds with trivial ideas like politics. Let the government that that burden off of them.

The government might treat them with better respect and compensation if they stay. I think the government only rewards those who are important to the country but treats everyone else like crap though.

i wasnt talking about the screeners themselves, you can go indirect - atleast im sure there is a way, there are always backdoors to everything in politics

man i remember back in vietnam the school system is freaking hard.
there this girl that just got in the US for like 8 mouth and she already got into the GIFT program and back there they already done with algebra and stuff while over here we just getting start on :genius:
so how come the people over here are the better one

For a thing, the kids in Vietnam start to do complex mathematics at school pretty early compare to their peers in other western countries.

Highschools in cities of VN are superior comparing to US.
However, universities of U.S. are superior.
VN undergraduate programs are very inefficient.
