Just wondering, how is it like to be a Buzava in Don Cossack host ?

100 years ago, if you weren't born into nobility, the only way to improve onself was to become a Buddhist monk. That was the general rule. The Buzava, however, had other options because of their integration into the Don Cossack military caste. We actually had the opportunity to become farmers, writers, lawyers, doctors, scholars, etc. Many of the others Kalmyks did not have the opportunity to improve themselves because they chose to remain semi-nomadic.

^True because the only way those people could improve them selfs was to go on campaign and collect booty and climb up ranks in millitary but those days were long gone.

A buzava can raise up to be a General, while the nomadic one gets stuck? Interesting...

Another question though..how's the relation between Buzavas and other ethnic groups such as Slavs in COssack hosts? IS it kinda like Asian Americans in USA? or it's a totally different situation altogether?

The Buzava were forcibly removed from the Don Host (and other hosts) by the Communists to break our free spirited ways. But generally speaking, Cossacks are brothers, regardless of race. I can return to the Don Host anytime and reclaim my Cossack status. They will treat me like a long lost brother. How do I know this? My brother visited Russia and reclaimed his Don Cossack status. He receives newsletters from time to time. Also, quite a few Buzava in the United States belong to US-based Cossack organizations.

Have you Buzava warrior ever engaged in the war between Russia and Ottman empire. I think Mongol knights were recuited in both Turkish and Russian armies. Yup, Cossacks are Mongolian 's brother. Would you like to show some weblink of Cossack communities, I want to make friends with them.
