This is an event hold every 2 years between 11 nations (?) in SEA.

we were 1st because we are host. The actual rank of VN in SEA is 3rd I guess.

Superior my @$$, there are other countries in SEA that are better than Vietnam.

Be more specific when you say "superior". It should be "superior in the 2004 Sea games", which is true.

Im not dogging on Vietnam's achievement in the 2004 Sea games, which was excellent. We will see how they do in a foriegn country.

That would be a test for Vietnam. And you are correct. The host country usually have an upper hand. Home field advantage, ability to choose certain games aside the core sports, etc,,,are some of the advantage when a country is a host. But then again, I think the main reason for SEA games is for peaceful and friendly cooperation between countries in the SEA.

When was the first SEA game? And how did VN do then?

WHAT KIND OF GAMES DO THEY PLAY IN SEA GAMES? DO THEY PLAY NATIVE ASIAN GAMES AND TEACH THE OTHERS TO PLAY IT? OR DO THEY PLAY BASKETBALL AND AMERICAN GAMES?

Who cares, Thailand beat vietnam in the soccer competition in there own home turf and thats the only event that really matters. Afterwards the sorelosers mobbed up on the Thai players.

I come from a long line of elephant herders in surin and biriram. Since my people live in the Thai/Lao/Khmer Tirangle we are fluent in Kui/Sui, Khmer, Lao, Thai, Khmu and even developed a creole langugae of all the langugaes listed.

Its very complicating... only 15,000 exist. Before Laos/Thai/Khmer seperated into there own kingdoms, The kingdom was called sovanaphum. We are a dying breed.

Yes the khmu live in the lao mountians. They are a direct cousin of the khmer. Being isolated in the mountians restricted them from indian and sino influence. They are not hindu/buddhist, but rather they are anamist and there langugae is refered as "old khmer" in the eyes of Cambodian scholars. Other Khmus are Christian.

Khme. Khmer,Khom, Khamen, Khemarak,.. they are all different pronounciations of the decendents of Kampuchadesameramahaphumi. All one family

No, khmer is the correct term to use on the internet. The people prefer it to be that way. Its just curtosy. And I part khmer? Yes. But I am a product of many neighboring cultures. Its is just not fair to my other heritage to say I am plainy Khmer.

They are not strong enough, The two strongest teams in SEA are Thailand and Indonesia as both teams are the teams representing SEA.

Wait until Vietnam is more rich. Remember it's usually the wealthy nations that win medals in sports due to more money to hire better training and stuff.
