Jeeze, Bro, so you wanna to be more Viet,
how about paying more attention to what is going on to our motherland, Vietnam,
and do something to help, such as donate some money to charity such as
www.VietHope.org , www.RoomToRead.org, etc.
Bro, I rarely go out. I usually stay inside. My body is very fragile and sensitive.

i actually do a lot of pro bono work for alpac (Asian Pacific American Legal Center)
we work with quite a few vietnamese americans who need free/cheap legal advice...
also at my new firm, i do most of the pro bono work trying to help the vietnamese community that is stuck in the phillipines achieve either citizenship or emigrate to the states...
although these activities help me feel a bit closer to the vietnamese community, it only allows me to speak/correspond to vietnamese people who are about to go to jail or get deported...
i'd like to meet vietnamese americans that i could actually kick it with, go have a beer or two with... that kind of thing...

Cloud 9. best place to drink...it's the most "americanized" quan nhau (viet bar/lounge/restaurant) in OC. it's on brookhurst and heil. we go there almost everyday.
u should check out a viet club sometimes. it's.......different. live vietnamese music....it's quite fun sometimes. there's All Star (fridays & sats) on beach and garden grove. there's Can on euclid n westminster (sundays). Bleu on wednesdays (beach and westminster) they play hip hop but the crowd is 99% vietnamese.
If you enjoy billiard plus drinking, there's the Lounge on beach and chapman. just opened. very nice....not ur typical pool hall. it looks more like a club. very dark with black lights and sexy waitresses.
then there's always the famous coffee shops. there are lots, but u should go to the ones on euclid and westminster: vivid, di vang 2, star. they got some hot girls there.
that's pretty much what the "an choi" people do down here. coffee shops and quan nhau. hope that helped.
let's go get a beer. u know what would be awesome? if a bunch of us on here that are from the OC area meet up to have a few drinks. i think someone should coordinate that. what do u guys think?

Meeting up off an internet forum is too weird for some people. I gotta admit, I think it's kinda strange and awkward. But who am I to judge? I've met people off of car forums before. I'm not too into the bolsa scene. Not a big fan. Chances are, you'll run into trouble of some sort. And yeah, I heard bleu is pretty packed on wednesday nights. Never heard of alot of these vietnamese clubs/lounges before. It can't be very safe though. On random nights you'll find me at Rack N cue.

now, its not worth driving to santa ana or little saigon, i mean you can get the same products and items in SGV or l.a chinatown, as we all know is occupied by viet's.
as for food, id say SGV has the best of what american viet's can offer.
one of my fav's are banh mi and pho.
theres a place named le baguette, french styled banh mi in SGV.
in little saigon, its just the regular, typical banh mi.

I'll admit it, I've had food from little saigon and SGV. To me, they're pretty equal. The plus side to little saigon is having alot more variety.
I wouldn't expect SGV's viet food to be of lower quality. It's only 30 minutes away, what would make it any different from little saigon? lol.
My fav's in SGV for Viet food would be: Vietnam House and Mr. Baguette. I heard Ba Le sandwich shop is good also.
The vegetarian restaurant across from Mr. Baguette in rosemead is spectacular! I think it's called Happy Family of Rosemead or something. Good stuff.

no problem. most "quan nhau's" (drinking places) are opened till 12. a few like May Hong, M va Toi, Chot Nho, Song Thuy, sometimes Quan Huyen open till 2. some places will keep open after 2 if u're still in there drinking.

Id have to admit, Viet girls are more pretty than Chinese chicks. chinese chicks ive seen tend to have that, skinny, 12 year old girl look, no sex appeal look, with no eyelids. chinese males are a fuccen disgrace to the male gender, skinny, pussy wimpy, opposite of a man look.
Vietnamese chicks on the other hand have woman look, a sexy look and are more gorgeous.
