He did not run, he stood and fought with his men.

He was captured and spent 17 years in a re-education camp, and he was given political asylum from the United States and able to leave Vietnam under the Orderly Departure Program (ODP).

Hats off to an honorable man. While every VNCH high officer and important VNCH supporter ran like a rabbit, he didn't. He fought until he was ordered to lay down arms, stayed with his soldiers and shared their fate like the heroic Tay Son generals Bui Thi Xuan and her husband Tran Quang Dieu.

I'll give respect where it's due. This general is a hero and honorable man, I cannot say the same for General Ngo Quang Truong who ran like a scurr rabbit, who just recently kicked the bucket. Whom the VNCH loyalists were singing praises about him being so "heroic".

Maybe if the majority of high ranking VNCH officers and leaders exhibited qualities like this general, then there would be an RVN today, but too bad the overwhelming majority were mainly compose of @$$ wipes, cowards and corrupted morons which had an substantial effect in the collapse of the RVN.
