I am a "handsome, tall, intelligent" American male. How can I find & impress a vietnamese girl for a serious relationship. I look like the PLAYBOY type but I am not.

Well always have a gentleman demeanor and say what you think is interesting about vietnamese that brings you to like them so much. Politeness is a key thing and hopefully you dress well like not in ragged shirts or inappropriate t-shirts. Be nice.. Vietnamese girls are like any other girls but as an asian we have more strict tradition than the american girls. Most of our parents don't let us be wild etc.

That's a good question. When you guys are talking about Americans, do you only mean/think of white? Just a question. Cuz I notice in Vietnamese, you say "mei" for white americans, and "mei dang" for black americans. And for asian-americans, you just call them by whatever their ethnicity is. Used to annoy me, but I've learned to live with it. Guess you just can't be a real American and asian at the same time.

maybe too tall for vietnamese girl. most viet girls are hell short .. haha.. but there are some taller ones.. just a lot lot more short ones only about 5ft haha

I've had three vietnamese girlfriends in my life, I'm a 30 something year old Australian (white !) guy ... and I can vouch for the fact vietnamese girls are unique in Asian culture. Of course most ppl (not ppl here of course) think asians are asians, that is to say ... they all the same ... Vietnamese have their own language (not one of the nicest sounding in Asia! lol) and their own culture. As far as the girls go, they are mostly tiny and like to wear their hair long. They are basically conservative, except when it comes to love. If they have strong feelings for you, and the "L" word is talked about, then they will do anything to please you. A lot of vietnamese girls don't like vietnamese men, one girl I just met doesn't like vietnamese men or women .. and refuses all acts of friendship from them. It is not uncommon for vietnamase to loath ppl from their own race, especially ones living abroad. My favourite thing about vietnamese girls (apart from the obvious) is their names! Van,Mai,Thuy,Chau,Phuong,Thuyen,Duyen,Tam,Thu,Thien .. the cutest names in the world, and these names would account for about 80% of all vietnamese woman!

I'm not sure what you mean by the "I" word. Please explain. Also it's incorrect to state that "vietnamese girls don't like vietnamese men". Perhaps it's in your own personal experience but I can definately say that I've never met any Vietnamese woman that feels this way. That woman that you mentioned sounds like she's got issues. I don't see how this reflects on the millions of other Vietnamese out there. Unless of course you some sort of evidence to back it up. Also Vietnamese women are the least likely to date outside their group.

I am sorry if I made it sound I was speaking for "most" vietnamese girls - I was only really speaking about the small number I have known: Mai, Thuy, Chau & Van - in Australia. These four viet girls all had 1 thing in common: They want/like Australian guys. (I live in Australia- we have lotsa viets here, from the conservative types to the gangter / herion dealing ones). I was only too happy to meet their needs, and I would agree with you, vietnamese probably are the most unlikely to marry/date a non-vietnamase. The shock a non-vietnamese partner would cause to their parents is the main issue here, I believe. I know 1 viet. girl in Canada (Trang, an msn friend of mine) who secretly dates Canadian guys, but has a viet boyfriend. The viet b/f comes to the family dinners, weddings, birthdays etc. The Canadian guys are just for "fun" - like for movies, parties, drinking, making out etc ... so there is no rules. One rule which I find useful is this: Look at a viet. girls hair - (on her head) - If it is long and black (not coloured) - she is not likely to want to date me, so I don't waste any effort on them. If it is short and black, then worth trying and chat up these ones as there is moderate chance of success. Same for coloured brown/red and long. If coloured blonde (including blonde highlights), then very good chance of success with her and if short and blonde, then excellent chance of success: chat these viet. cuties up and you won't be disappointed! They are "wannabe white" viets... and should be no problem for you.

i'm from Australia too....i sort of don't agree with you...viet girls around my area go for their own kind....AND i don't see much viet guys going for non-azn girls...from my perspective i see a lot of viet guys going out with chinese girls these days...

but hey.. australia is a big place...i guess viets here and there are different...
