IF the president of Vietnam and the its assembly decide to give back Southern Vietnam to Cambodia, what would they do with the Vietnamese living there? Ethnic Kinh of Vietnam's population alone in Saigon is about 5-6 millions (in the future it would be probably more than that), not counting other cities in Southern Vietnam. Basically, Cambodia will be made up 50% to 70% ethnic Vietnamese. Will Cambodia "deport" those Vietnamese out, which by nature is violating their rights, since a lot of them are native there? Or will Cambodian government will commit genocide like you did to your own people once?

Have you guys ever think of that?

By the way, it is impossible for Vietnamese government to do such thing. They would be stupid anough to give its most important tragetic and the fastest developing economical hub in Southeast Asia: Saigon city (Pearl of the Orient) and its surrounding.

Supernovasp, interesting scenario you are presenting there. Actually, there is already a plan to run Southern Vietnam should it be converted to the Khmer rule once again. For your information, there is already a new flag, a system of government, and other essential governmental elements. From what I understand, the new Southern Vietnam under the Khmer rule will look pretty much like the country of Canada. The Khmer people whom I am referring to here are not the ones of Cambodia, but the multilingual Khmer Krom people of Kampuchea Krom (Southern Vietnam) who will run Southern Vietnam.

The Khmer people are the kindest and the most tolerant people in the whole world to their ethnic minorities. International news reports of ethnic minority groups from neighboring countries streaming into Cambodia. This says a lot about the Khmer folks and the Khmer nation. Of all the various ethnic minorities, why are the Vietnamese still the national issue within the Khmer society? I personally read online about how mockingly and degradingly the ethnic Vietnamese settlers in Cambodia said about the Cambodians in general. The simple solution for those anti-Khmer Vietnamese is simple: If you don't want to have anything to do with the Cambodians, then simply leave and go somewhere else. The Khmer folks can tolerate and appreciate any ethnic group that wants to help contribute the prosperity and security of the nation, but should any ethnic group decides to undermine that national goal, then it is only right that those obstructionists must be reprimanded.

Please note that, according to history, the earliest genocidal programs implemented against the Khmer people were done by both the Viet and Thai conquerors. The Khmer folks are still the most honorable people in the entire Southeast Asia. Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge regime were not elements of the traditional Cambodian perspective.

Most people are unaware of history that took place so long ago.

I agree that Cabodians as a whole probably do not think or act the way that Pol Pot did, but because of what he did, Cambodia is nowadays often related to the term genocide and other violent acts. Somewhat like what Bush is doing to the already flimsy image of the United States.

If that is the case, the "lower-half" shall be ruled in a democratic maner. Where Vietnamese and Khmer shall have power in any seat. It is up to the people to elect their leader.

Language wise, both Khmers and Vietnamese shall learn Vietnamese and Khmer. Khmer tradition shall be retain and so does the Vietnamese.

If that is the case, then you will see the "newer face" in the "lower-half". We Khmer Krom are peaceful people, we are willing to share power for as long as the power is use wisely for what is best to the people.

However, it is impossible that THEY will just give it up. Look like we have to use force.

i agree that Vietnam gov' will NEVER give back southern Vietnam to Cambodia , and i think force wont do good for Cambodia anyways , cuz once the VCs got mad , nothing will stop them . Imagine they will tell who help Cambodia that its the Cambodians faults for attacking them first ... see ?? And after that , VCs will have the rights to attack right in the heart of Cambodia , how many percent do u think Cambodians will win the war ??

^ my friend, if one is strong, it doesn't mean that we can't defeat them. If David can defeated Golaith with a rock, we can do the same.

If you are willing to fight, even if in the end, there will be only one of you left, it is worth to know that you give your best in fighting for what you care for.

You need to have courage. Khmer Krom are still fighting (not by weapong but by word). However, there are those who are prepare to fight with weapon.

It is hard to defeat the VC with all their weapon, but that doesn't mean that we can't defeat them.

I am using WE, that doesn't mean that I talking about Khmer & Viet join force in fighting the VC.

If the VC return the South VN to KhmerKrom some days!! I think we have a great relationships to each other. We dont kick them out...just leave them alone as normal. But we just dont want them doing something to conflict to the New Leader Policy of the country. We, all Khmers dont hate them as what you all think, we just want to be a free-dom, dignity, independence...But if the VC intentional invasion our KhmerKrom Land and defy our KHmerKrom Priviliges...Then the Khmers have to fight them back till the last drop of our bloods... :genius:
