I heard about a way of growing rice, but another member would be able to expand on that more than I can.
One recent one...although not benefitting life in Viet Nam and definitely not benefitting the receiver of the invention...the missiles that were used to hit terrorist bunkers underground. I heard a lot about it in the news, then a few months later, I found out the research was headed by a Viet woman so that was cool.
