why is it that many beauty parlors all across the us are family run by vietnamese. how did this started.
Nam Quoc Son Ha
Alot of Vietnamese run beauty parlours, just like alot of Chinese run grocery stores.

Vietnamese females, and Asian females have an obsession with beauty so they probably find that it's easier to make money in this field.

It just happen to be bit more common with Vietnamese though, doesn't mean all Vietnamese run beauty parlours, which I don't think you mean that but as a matter of interest I have to state.

No idea, but if you apply the same theory to Koreans as Nam did to Viets, i'd say because they have an obession with cleanliness, especially on clothes...

lol, joking... I think how it started is just what goes on in the communities. How it started here is one person saying "i make over 7 thousand a month, taxed and all, without lifting a finger in this business"... So everybody opens one cause it sounds easy, you sit and watch other people do the work and you come and visit once in a while to see how the business is going. Atleast that's how it started for one person i know.

Where i'm from Viets own half the bigger grocery stores (the non-white ones atleast, talking about the Chinatown ones), and i have yet to see a korean dry cleaner (but that's probably because there aren't too many koreans to start off with where i live). Trends start because it sounds like something simple to do i guess...

You forgot the fact these people regardless of their ethnic .. they all working hard to make a decent living .. and contribute big tax revenue to US wherearea it just happen More common that would lead to stereotypical.

These professions just happen to suit their skills
EX: Korean prefer to open small business such as liquor store, dry cleaner. Khmer go for bakery.. donut shop .. Viets .. beauty and nail shop .. Indian ..Hotel and motel .. Chinese ... grocery and restaurant .. Filipino will work as nurse and service .. At least we tried ... Don't we?

and chinese saying (not those ancient ones). Its easiest to earn money from a woman's pocket. Get it?

i mean its really true, when i see kids at the age of 12 getting make up on, baby boomers, are now getting old, and the fact is that they are the richest people, and they have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ to try stay young again.

the market for those cosmentics stuff and health products are in great demand.

If i am correct a former US treasury guy (can't remember his name) he has made 3 very accurate predictions. 70's Microwave. 80's VCR 90's Computer and internets. 21 st century, life products. I mean think about it i heard that guys get make up now, in Japan. sure.gif
