Hi, everyone.
I read somewhere that the average temperature in Dalat's cool season is 10C(which can go down to 5C at night), while in Hanoi it's about 19C. What about in the summer, does the temperature in Da Lat ever rise above 30C. Are there any Viet or English websites that I can go to and look for the temperature forecast and the monthly average temperature in Dalat? Apparently, that city is not listed on any weather sites that I"ve been to

. Thanks for any infos. BTW, they said it snow sometimes in Sapa, but exactly how many times? at least once a year? Is it possible that the cool season in Hanoi be be shorter due to global warming; many cities in the world are also experiencing this phenomenon.

Does it only snow when the temperature drops to 0 degree C (=32 F?)?

Dalat is highland, called "cao nguyên". Elevation is about 1400m above sea level, i think.
It is cool all around the year, temperature ranges from 10-25 degC. There is no season in Dalat, so it is wrong to talk about winter here. In other places in the South, there are 2 seaons: dry and wet. It is a characteristic of moonsonal tropical zone, called "nhiệt đới gió mùa". The main reason is because of the wind from the Himalaya blowing across the South East Asia to Northern Australia.
In the South, the difference in temperature between these 2 seasons is 3 degrees. Because of global warming, I've read report where they say that in Vietnam, there has been an increase in average temperature in the South of 0.2-0.5 deg C. That magnitude may sound little to you, but it has a big impact on biological system anywhere in the world.
In Hanoi, the average temperature in January is about 16degC, average of all of winter is about 18 degC. The lowest temperature experienced is 2degC. The average temperature difference between winter and summer is about 10-12degC.
In Sapa and higher ground, called "miền núi và trung du", the temperature in winter is between 0-10 deg C. It often dips below 0degC at night. Summer in these areas, temperature usually reaches very high, up to 40+ degC.

^How many questions are there? I'll take only the most central.
In fact, information is everywhere you look, and this is what I found.

yes. that's the freezing point of water.

yes. that's the freezing point of water.
Thanks for the clarification.
Btw, the lowest temperature ever recorded for Hanoi was 2.7 C in 1955

If you talk about snowing as a state of H2O (moisture in the air freezing), then technically, i think snow can occur at positive temperature. The state of materials depend on both temperature and pressure. At atmospheric pressure, water turns into ice at 0 deg C. But if you decrease pressure, the needed temperature is < 0 deg C. If you increase the pressure, the needed temperature is >0 deg C. We often dont see the snow at positive temperature because the pressure we experience is often equal to or less than atmospheric pressure [not many places in the world situated below mean sea level]. In higher ground, you need lower than 0 deg C for it to snow, & similarly lower than 100 deg C for water to evaporate. Snow occurs when the air temperature at earth surface to a high elevation all acquire the required temperature.
Industrial diamond, composite steel, alloy and many more materials are manufactured by manipulating pressure and temperature. Every material has a state function, remember? It is a curve. The vertical axis is pressure. The horizontal axis is deg C. The state function is usually a curve or a combination of them. [this is from 1st year uni chemistry course, i think]
